Beginning in the year 2000, Mark translated Dr. Edgar Schein's formative academic work into the professional field of Process Consulting: co-creating what help looks like with Clients, so that Clients own what they say they want. The resulting curriculum and certfication were created in collaboration with Process Consultants around the world and are available asynchronously or in person.

A Process Consulting pioneer, meta-Systems Convener, and Sage Group integrator, Mark is certified as an Executive Process Consultant and a WiLD Facilitator. He serves on multiple Boards with an eye to their efficiency, relevance, and mission-centeredness.

Mark established and helped guide Design Group International, the Society for Process Consulting, and Maestro-level leaders. He is an author and content contributor across various channels and a frequent presenter; his latest book, Listening Helping Learning, lays out the core competencies of Process Consulting, a roadmap to partnership with Clients. His newest book, to be published in April 2026, traces the history and structure of Maestro-level Leaders, which hosts advising cohorts for leaders in transition.
